Job Description

SST Direct is seeking an experienced Air Compliance Specialist to join our team in a direct hire opportunity.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $95,000 - $110,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package including PTO, Medical, Dental, and 401k.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Permit Management: Manage and maintain two Nevada air quality permits (one Class I and one Class II) to ensure relevancy and accuracy with current conditions and ongoing compliance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Interact and coordinate with personnel and regulators regarding air compliance matters, including permit-required emissions stack testing, continuous emissions monitoring, and inspections.
  • Compliance Management: Manage regulatory compliance with permit-required emissions stack testing, continuous emissions monitoring, and inspections, including managing subcontractors.
  • Reporting and Recordkeeping: Prepare and implement plans and procedures, prepare appropriate internal and external reports, and manage regulatory mandated recordkeeping.
  • Audit and Compliance Oversight: Provide oversight of internal environmental audits and assist in the management of other compliance concerns (hazardous waste, water, etc.).
  • Permit Management: Assist in the management of RCRA Hazardous Waste TSDF permits and NPDES wastewater discharge permits.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in engineering, physical sciences, environmental sciences, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of environmental management experience.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of federal and state environmental laws and regulations.
  • Skills: Experienced with obtaining and managing permits, able to work independently and manage multiple priorities, and proficient in computer-based environmental management systems.
  • Certifications: Certified in 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training along with 8-hour refresher training.
  • Security Clearance: Able to obtain a 'Secret' security clearance.
