Role Summary:
The Senior Cybersecurity Assurance Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing our assurance program, working closely with Assurance Managers and cross-functional teams. This position involves conducting thorough assessments of systems and third-party controls, facilitating audits, and driving the development of security baselines through collaborative engineering efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive technical evaluations of systems and networks, identifying deviations from established configurations and policies.
- Collaborate with system owners to identify security and compliance deficiencies and drive remediation efforts.
- Prepare and present assessment results, ensuring the development and maintenance of system security plans.
- Enhance internal controls and policies to safeguard SpaceX's systems and sensitive data.
- Streamline assessment and audit processes through effective system integration and data utilization.
- Support third-party risk management initiatives, including onboarding and periodic evaluations.
- Facilitate risk decision-making by partnering with various teams across the organization.
- Oversee the tracking of audits and assessments, ensuring visibility into gaps and corrective actions.
- Engage with other teams to identify functional needs and implement sustainable security solutions.
- Mentor team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Stay informed on emerging trends in information security and compliance to propose proactive measures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with security tools and applications relevant to information security risk management.
- At least 5 years of experience in control testing, policy development, or security audits.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in preparing information system owners for assessments and leading external audits.
- Knowledge of third-party risk evaluation and stakeholder communication.
- Familiarity with information security frameworks such as CMMC, ISO-27001, and NIST standards.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all organizational levels.
- Project management experience in dynamic environments.
- Ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed for audits and assurance activities.
