Position Overview:
This role is situated within the Department of Homeland Security, specifically in U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Information and Technology, Field Support Directorate.

Key Responsibilities:

In this capacity, you will leverage your administrative expertise to deliver project-related, advisory, and technical support to the management of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This position offers a salary range starting at $99,000 (GS-12, Step 1) up to $128,000 (GS-12, Step 10).

Typical Duties Include:

- Offering comprehensive advisory and technical services on organizational functions and practices to executive management.
- Overseeing high-priority special projects, events, and initiatives that align with organizational goals.
- Reviewing reports, departmental guidance, and communications plans while analyzing feedback from staff.
- Proposing modifications to frequently changing administrative programs and policies.

Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens. Males born after December 31, 1959, must be registered with Selective Service.

Candidates must have primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years. A background investigation may be required, and adherence to the DHS Drug-Free Workplace Plan is mandatory.

Qualifications:
To qualify for the GS-12 grade level, candidates must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
- Applying administrative program concepts, laws, policies, and practices to resolve technical issues.
- Developing administrative program work methods and procedures.
- Creating and delivering briefings, papers, and reports to facilitate understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.
- Troubleshooting and managing mission support responsibilities to resolve complex problems.

All applicants must undergo a thorough background investigation to uphold the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country, and integrity.

Residency Requirement:
Applicants not currently employed by CBP must have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years.

Probationary Period:
New federal employees must serve a one-year probationary period during their initial permanent federal appointment to assess fitness for continued employment.
