Job Summary

The Front Desk Supervisor is a key member of the hotel operations team, responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and train a team of front desk staff to provide top-notch service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Services: Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Team Management: Supervise and train front desk staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to provide excellent service, handle guest complaints, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Front Desk Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the front desk, including managing cash and credit card transactions, processing guest requests, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Communication: Establish effective communication systems to ensure seamless information exchange between the front desk, other departments, and guests.
  • Problem-Solving: Respond promptly and professionally to guest complaints or concerns, using problem-solving skills to resolve issues and prevent future occurrences.
  • Revenue Management: Work with the hotel's property management system (Opera) and reservation system (Synxis) to maximize revenue through occupancy and rate adjustments based on market conditions.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain high standards of quality in all aspects of front desk operations, ensuring compliance with Sonesta's quality standards and policies.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Two years of previous hotel experience required, with a background in the extended stay industry preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial. Professional verbal and written communication skills, mathematical skills, and problem-solving abilities required.
  • Certifications: Will be required to obtain a ServSafe certification and may be required to obtain a TIPS certification.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems required.
