Job Summary

The Installation Technician Level 4 will be responsible for performing intermediate and advanced installation work activities with minimal supervision. This role requires a clear understanding of installation and quality standards, as well as specific company and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with minimal supervision and be certified in skill levels 1, 2, and 3.
  • Input job status, issues, requests, and expense-related information into the project management platform.
  • Reconcile materials for sales orders using web-based inventory control forms.
  • Understand the scope of work and customer expectations, as well as profitability objectives and timeframes.
  • Control all on-site aspects of the job and work closely with the installation supervisor or project manager to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Interface directly with the installation supervisor or project manager and engineering department to resolve order issues.
  • Maintain tools assigned to the job and monitor tool calibration requirements.
  • Perform hardware testing, such as power verification, device provisioning, and system tests.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of data center/PoP/CO installation experience.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of basic power tools.
  • Ability to adapt to various work environments.
  • Knowledge of optical routing equipment installations.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic cable installation and testing practices.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC power.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure installation work (equipment racks, cable racks, fiber duct, etc.).
Work Environment
  • The work environment can consist of a customer data center, central office, warehouse, computer networking, or office network setting.
Special Requirements
  • Work schedules and hours of operation are dynamic. The lead technician must be able to adjust to varying work schedules, which may include all work shifts.
  • Travel up to 100%. Installers may be expected to travel periodically to work locations outside of a commutable area.
