Senior Financial Analyst

This role is integral to our US Orthopedic division, delivering financial and operational insights to a complex and expanding enterprise. The selected candidate will engage in financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting, contributing to both medium and long-term planning initiatives as well as monthly forecasting cycles. This dynamic and prominent position demands a candidate who can leverage a diverse set of financial and operational competencies, paired with robust business acumen, to implement key strategies aimed at enhancing revenue and EBIT growth. Additionally, this role will provide functional cost center leaders with monthly performance reports comparing actual results to budgeted figures and will assist in preparing presentations for executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and support all facets of the monthly and quarterly forecasting cycles, including revenue projections and all P&L line items, while ensuring accurate entry of financial data into the company’s financial management system.
- Contribute to and assist in the annual strategic planning and budgeting process.
- Prepare month-end journal entries, develop necessary accruals, and conduct account reconciliations in compliance with GAAP for specific accounts such as commissions and bonuses.
- Deliver timely analytical insights regarding variances between actual outcomes and forecasts/budgets.
- Examine departmental expenditures and other financial metrics.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis of the P&L, focusing on significant line items such as commissions, travel and entertainment, instrument acquisitions, and headcount compensation, while providing commentary on budget, projection, and actual variances for these categories.
- Create and maintain ongoing reporting for internal stakeholders, including revenue and expense trends, new product introduction performance, strategic initiatives, KPIs, and metrics.
- Establish and nurture strong collaborative relationships with the corporate finance team and other cross-functional departments, becoming a reliable resource for all FP&A-related inquiries.
- Lead financial modeling (ROI/NPV) and analysis for R&D investments, potential business development ventures, and other ad hoc projects.
- Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned by the VP of Finance.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
5-7 years of progressive experience in the accounting/finance sector.
Preferred Qualifications
An MBA or CPA is preferred.
Experience in the medical device industry is advantageous.
As required by applicable law, the annual salary range for this position is between $81,000 and $140,000. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level. This salary range reflects CONMED's good faith belief at the time of this posting.
