Position Overview:

As a vital member of our pharmacy team, the Staff Pharmacist will engage in essential duties related to medication distribution and management. This role encompasses the assessment of medication orders, therapeutic interventions, and the provision of drug information to healthcare staff and patients.

The Staff Pharmacist will also oversee pharmacy technicians, manage inventory effectively, and mentor pharmacy residents and students as assigned.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and verify physician orders, ensuring appropriateness and compliance with formulary standards.
  • Guide pharmacy technicians in daily operations and stock management, preventing medication shortages.
  • Participate actively in emergency response teams and collaborate with nursing staff to evaluate patient therapy effectiveness.
  • Engage in preceptorship for pharmacy students and residents, contributing to their professional development.
  • Compound and dispense medications accurately, adhering to aseptic techniques and age-related pharmaceutical practices.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • Legal qualifications for pharmacy practice as determined by the relevant regulatory body.
  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree is highly desirable.
