Role Overview:
The Senior Clinical Pharmacist is recognized as a subject matter expert, offering authoritative guidance to colleagues in a specialized service area. This role encompasses various clinical responsibilities associated with the management of specialty medications, particularly injectable therapies.

The responsibilities include evaluating and making coverage decisions based on clinical guidelines and health plan policies. The pharmacist will deliver comprehensive clinical support to healthcare providers within UCI Health and will take on the responsibility for investigating new specialty medications. Furthermore, the pharmacist will engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing both therapeutic and financial outcomes.

Incumbents are expected to conduct educational sessions biannually for fellow healthcare professionals and contribute to medical literature at least once every three years.


Qualifications Required:
- A minimum of four years of clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist, or two years of experience coupled with a residency.
- Proficiency in Pharmacotherapy; residency training is preferred.
- Current certification in BLS or ACLS.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience (over two years) in developing and executing drug utilization strategies for both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Strong presentation skills.

Licenses and Certifications:
- Registered Pharmacist (RPH)
