- Overseeing departmental workflow and guiding pharmacy technicians in their tasks.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is:
- Minimum: $69.53
- Midpoint: $92.13
- Maximum: $114.73
The compensation is influenced by various factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, education, and specific job requirements.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Required: At least one year of clinical pharmacy experience in an acute care environment.
- Preferred: Experience in a pediatric acute care setting.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited institution.
Training:
- Required: None specified.
- Preferred: Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency program (PGY1 and/or PGY2).
Specialized Skills:
- Required: Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of relevant laws; ability to supervise and instruct others; analytical skills for evaluating drug therapies; and organizational skills for coordinating departmental activities.
- Preferred: Familiarity with current trends in pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, and toxicology related to pediatric care.
Licensure:
- Required: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of hire; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days of hire; Pharmacist license from the CA Board of Pharmacy.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
- Medium to high energy level with the ability to lift and carry weights of 40-50 lbs.
- Physical activities include bending, climbing, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
- Sensory requirements include color discrimination, depth perception, and the ability to hear and see clearly.
Environmental Considerations:
- Exposure to airborne communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and various environmental factors.
