Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team at Personnel Staffers, Inc. as a Payroll Specialist with Human Resources.

This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with a competitive hourly rate of $22.00 per hour, working three days a week from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. The successful candidate will be offered benefits upon permanent hire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to employee inquiries via various communication channels, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Lead the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring all necessary documentation, job postings, and orientation are completed.
  • Organize and maintain accurate employee files, records, and data.
  • Oversee benefit enrollments, including SEP, voluntary life insurance, and other benefit options.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and procedures.
  • Contribute to the team by suggesting projects, improvements, or new concepts.
  • Interpret company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Familiarity with Paychex Payroll platform is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Google Documents.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of the transportation or trucking industry is a plus.
