Job Summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Membership Service Representative II to join our team. As a key member of our membership operations team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional member service, promoting our programs and services, and building strong relationships with our members and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Member Service: Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
  • Membership Sales: Support membership operations through the sale of memberships and program offerings.
  • Program Knowledge: Actively develop, educate, and own the knowledge base to quickly respond to member, prospective member, and program member questions.
  • Relationship Building: Take steps to building committed and connected relationships with members, volunteers, and collaborative partners.
  • Problem Resolution: Directly handle and resolve membership concerns and inform supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
  • Certifications and Training: Maintain branch and association certifications in CPR/AED, Blood-borne Pathogens, branch orientation, and Branch Emergency procedures.
  • Communication: Communicate in a positive manner with members, guests, program participants, and volunteers. Provide appropriate assistance as needed.
Requirements
  • Computer Proficiency: Computer proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve, and possess effective time management skills.
  • Point of Sale Training: Ability to attend, complete, and pass Point of Sale training.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain privacy requirements by not sharing personal information about members.
  • Human Relations: High degree of human relation skills: Ability to effectively communicate and manage information to peers, staff, and volunteers.
Preferred Requirements
  • Customer Service Experience: 1+ years of experience in work relating to customer service, either paid or volunteer.
  • SPIRIT Training: SPIRIT helpful.
  • YMCA Experience: Previous YMCA or non-profit experience.
