Key Responsibilities:

  • The Financial Account Manager oversees programs in both development and ongoing production to ensure the achievement and sustainability of approved business case metrics regarding profitability and return on investment.
  • A diverse skill set is essential, encompassing analytical abilities, effective communication, strategic insight, and technical expertise related to the products.
  • Exceptional organizational and documentation capabilities, along with a keen attention to analytical details, are required.
  • This role demands leadership in areas such as communication, character development, critical thinking, change management, conflict resolution, and team coaching.
  • Accountability for Business Planning, Product Costing, and Product Pricing in relation to financial matters is crucial.

Additional Duties:

  • The Financial Account Manager will formulate New Business Plans that evaluate Return on Investment.
  • Assist in preparing Quotations for submission to Clients.
  • Analyze complex bills of material to understand and assess product costs and related cost drivers.
  • Engage with various manufacturing processes and their associated costs.
  • Capable of devising customer financial strategies, assessing business cases, managing all elements of the quotation process, and communicating effectively.
  • Participate in project team meetings and lead project finance discussions.
  • Follow up on unresolved financial issues until they are addressed.
  • Conduct monthly financial updates for senior management (including Program Reviews and Launch Readiness Reviews).
  • Possess a solid understanding of the automotive sector, market dynamics, customer systems, target-setting processes, and common negotiation strategies.
  • Establish cost targets for suppliers and support Make vs Buy decisions.
  • Provide insights for plants, engineering, and tooling concerning Profit Planning and Forecasting.
  • Manage development expenditures and encourage the team to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Initiate and support efforts for product cost reduction.
  • Ensure and maintain Metrix/Fiori for all new programs through the Start of Production phase.
  • Oversee tooling and discrete PO invoicing.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or Program Management is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or project management is necessary.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen and familiarity with business case development, including financial metrics (ROS%, IRR%, ROA %).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
  • Proficiency in advanced MS Excel is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree, such as an MBA, is advantageous.
  • Experience in cost estimation is preferred.
