The Financial Analyst position operates in a hybrid model, requiring in-office attendance four days a week. This role is structured as a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Analyst:

  • Oversee daily general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and analysis for designated functional areas.
  • Investigate and address inquiries from Business Units related to assigned areas.
  • Maintain regular communication with Supervisors regarding financial closing, challenges, and deliverables.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for assigned functional areas:
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations.
  • Compile and submit DCP Consolidation & Reporting Deliverables.
  • Prepare and analyze periodic management reports of financial outcomes for assigned areas:
  • Submit financial results for DCP Consolidation & Reporting Deliverables.
  • Develop comprehensive Financial Reporting requirements packages.
  • Execute Balance Sheet account reconciliations, account analyses, accrual calculations, and related accounting documentation.
  • Prepare journal entries associated with assigned responsibilities.
  • Analyze foreign currency transactions and their effects on financial results.
  • Compile reporting packages: DCP; Corporate; Tax; GST/Canadian filings/audits, as applicable; Audit Engagement Schedules.
  • Engage in special projects aimed at enhancing process efficiency and performance.
  • Review and analyze accounting transactions for functional areas.
  • Conduct project control functions.
  • Update and monitor lease agreements.
  • Manage additions and disposals for Fixed Assets.

Qualifications Required for the Financial Analyst:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 5-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Robust research and analytical skills.
  • Capacity to quickly adapt and learn new tasks independently.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Master's degree in Accounting or a related field (preferred).
  • CPA certification (preferred).
