This Financial Analyst position operates in a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence four days a week. This role is structured as a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Analyst:

  • Conduct day-to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and analysis for designated functional areas.
  • Address and resolve inquiries from Business Units related to assigned functions.
  • Maintain regular communication with Supervisors regarding financial closing processes, issues, and deliverables.
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities for assigned areas.
  • Perform variance analysis and prepare comprehensive explanations.
  • Compile and submit DCP Consolidation & Reporting Deliverables.
  • Prepare and analyze periodic management reports of financial results for assigned areas.
  • Submit financial results for DCP Consolidation & Reporting Deliverables.
  • Prepare all necessary Financial Reporting requirements packages.
  • Execute Balance Sheet account reconciliations, account analyses, accrual calculations, and related accounting documents/schedules.
  • Prepare journal entries associated with assigned responsibilities.
  • Analyze foreign currency transactions and their impact on financial outcomes.
  • Generate reporting packages for DCP, Corporate, Tax, GST/Canadian filings/audits, and Audit Engagement Schedules, as applicable.
  • Engage in special projects aimed at enhancing process efficiency and performance.
  • Review and analyze accounting transactions for functional areas.
  • Perform project control functions.
  • Update and track lease agreements.
  • Manage additions and disposals for Fixed Assets.

Qualifications Required for the Financial Analyst:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 5-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Exceptional research and analytical skills.
  • Capacity to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Master's degree in Accounting or a related field (preferred).
  • CPA certification (preferred).
