ABOUT SPECIALTY SALES

Our team consists of specialized consultants dedicated to meeting guests' needs through effective operations, exceptional guest experiences, and engaging visual merchandising that inspires and encourages purchases.

Departments such as Apparel and Accessories, Home, Baby, Beauty, and Electronics focus on enhancing guest experiences while efficiently completing tasks that guarantee product availability and accessibility. This includes pulling, filling, pricing, setting, staging, and maintaining both the sales floor and backroom.

ROLE OF A SPECIALTY SALES TEAM LEADER

The Specialty Sales Team Leader role offers opportunities to develop skills and gain experience in:

  • Establishing a guest-first culture within the team through exemplary service.
  • Understanding retail fundamentals, including sales trends, inventory management, and pricing strategies.
  • Planning and executing daily and weekly workloads to align with business priorities and sales objectives.
  • Leading diverse teams across multiple departments while fostering expertise.
  • Building and nurturing a team of hourly team members.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Promoting a service-oriented culture that prioritizes guest experiences and coaching team members to uphold service standards.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through ongoing development and inclusive practices.
  • Understanding sales targets and effectively planning workloads to achieve departmental and store goals.
  • Leading the execution of best practices in team onboarding and training, addressing skill gaps through development and coaching.
  • Collaborating with third-party vendors to ensure brand standards and merchandising are consistently met.
  • Creating inspiring visual displays and ensuring products are organized and well-presented to enhance guest confidence.
  • Supporting the team in maintaining a well-organized backroom and sales floor to ensure product availability.
  • Evaluating candidates for open positions and fostering a guest-centric team environment.
  • Ensuring a welcoming and safe environment in fitting rooms, if applicable.
  • Demonstrating ethical conduct and safety compliance, leading the team to adhere to these standards.
  • Addressing store needs as they arise and supporting guest services as required.
  • Performing additional duties as needed based on business requirements.

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Previous retail experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to lead and hold team members accountable.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to operate technology as needed.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Welcoming demeanor and helpful attitude.
  • Ability to remain composed in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.

WORKPLACE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Ability to access all areas of the building to address guest or team member issues.
  • Capability to interpret instructions and reports accurately.
  • Proficiency in handling cash register operations as necessary.
  • Ability to climb ladders as required.
  • Efficiently handling and moving merchandise, including lifting items up to 15 pounds regularly and up to 44 pounds occasionally.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions as needed.
  • Capacity to remain mobile throughout the duration of a scheduled shift.
