Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Grants Management Specialist to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing federal grant applications, monitoring grant awards, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review federal grant applications, including budgets, to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Monitor grant awards and serve as liaison between grantors and the Department of State Health Services.
  • Review and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with grant requirements.
  • Develop and maintain internal fiscal management systems to track expenditures and ensure efficient use of funds.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective grant management and compliance.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and subrecipients on grant administration and compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including participating in disaster response and recovery efforts.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to grants and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of sound business management principles and practices.
  • Ability to rapidly assimilate and retain fiscal and Branch policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Ability to work under occasional pressure and adjust to constant changes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with occasional pressure to meet deadlines. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree in a related field and relevant experience in grants management or a related field are required.
