Job Overview

This position is an entry-level to mid-level role within the accounting department, tasked with supporting the creation of precise and timely financial documentation for the organization. The role reports directly to the VP of Finance.

Key Responsibilities

The essential duties of this position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing invoices for customers and settling vendor accounts.
  • Managing the setup of accounts for customers, suppliers, vendors, and transporters.
  • Maintaining account identifiers across all systems, including any necessary updates or inquiries.
  • Handling accounts payable transactions.
  • Processing cash receipts and applying payments accordingly.
  • Recording bank transactions and reconciling bank statements as required.
  • Making journal entries as instructed.
  • Responding to inquiries from vendors, customers, and employees regarding billing and invoices.
  • Conducting reconciliation analysis on asset and liability accounts.
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and schedules, as well as supporting month-end closing activities.
  • Performing general administrative tasks as needed.
  • Carrying out project-based assignments as directed by the accounting manager or Chief Accounting Officer.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; an associate degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include:

  • Frequent sitting and use of a computer, along with communication via telephone.
  • The ability to navigate an office environment.
  • The capability to lift items weighing up to 20 pounds.
