Job Title: IT Specialist

Join the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) as an IT Specialist, where you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing software solutions to support the District of Columbia's financial operations.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Specialist to join our team in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. As an IT Specialist, you will work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop technical solutions to complex problems. Your expertise in software development, testing, and implementation will be essential in delivering high-quality applications that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and implement web-based applications using ASP.NET/C#, MVC, and other web technologies.
  • Implement SharePoint solutions in Office365 and Power Platform, Power Automate.
  • Participate on project teams to establish business requirements for agency systems and provide technical solutions concerning complex problems.
  • Interface with business users in a professional manner to understand their requirements and analyze requirements in order to plan and develop solutions.
  • Responsible for writing system documentation of new applications.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Five (5) years of progressive experience performing duties and responsibilities such as programming and conducting systems analysis; developing end-to-end framework for enterprise-wide automated and system integration testing; writing test scripts, conducting testing, and implementing technical solutions; and must have a basic understanding of tax, compliance, or financial regulations.
  • Experience with Python, Java, or other programming language is required.
