Reimbursement Specialist

Join the Office of the Chief Financial Officer in a challenging role that requires strong analytical and communication skills.

About the Role

The Reimbursement Specialist will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and performing various functions related to provider reimbursement information and claims. This includes:

  • Monitoring cost reports and supporting documentation
  • Researching and reviewing federal and local rules and Medicaid policies
  • Reviewing submitted audited cost reports and providing information to audit contractors on policies and procedures
  • Searching for variances from prior periods and looking for trends in cost reporting data
  • Reviewing audited cost reports and responding to questions regarding cost reports
  • Providing documentation, explanations, and testifying as a government witness to assist DHCF legal staff with appeals
  • Communicating and responding to questions regarding healthcare provider taxes
  • Providing schedules, analysis, work papers, and explanations for the Medicaid Year End Accrual
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Four (4) years of progressive experience performing related duties and responsibilities, such as reviewing, analyzing, and auditing cost reports and financial statements
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred
