Role Responsibilities:

As a Senior Manufacturing Design Engineer, you will:

  • Serve as the principal authority on manufacturing and producibility within your assigned program.
  • Utilize your engineering expertise to enhance product and process designs across the entire value stream.
  • Propose modifications to processes and procedures to achieve objectives related to cost, efficiency, and quality.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team to design, control, and enhance product manufacturability.
  • Identify and address constraints throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Engage in investigations for corrective actions.
  • Provide technical insights and conduct peer reviews on engineering designs and modifications.
  • Create comprehensive Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs), which include assembly instructions, workflow, labor standards, and tooling designs.
  • Offer technical support and problem-solving assistance to factory engineers.
  • Lead and coordinate initiatives across the extended value streams using established principles.
  • Foster influential relationships with internal stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • The capability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in identifying and mitigating cost, quality, and schedule constraints through technical engagement.
  • Familiarity with CORE principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with CAD solid modeling tools, preferably CREO/ProE.
  • A hands-on mechanical aptitude and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
  • An innovative mindset that promotes continuous improvement and adapts to technological advancements.
  • Strong communication skills for conveying technical information to varied audiences.
  • Experience with technical writing and MRP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
