Role Responsibilities:

As a Manufacturing Process Specialist, you will be integral in establishing standardized methodologies for translating engineering requirements into product design initiatives. Your role will encompass:

  • Enhancing production processes to boost efficiency, minimize costs, and promote sustainability.
  • Providing immediate solutions to production challenges related to materials and processes, ensuring comprehensive understanding of root causes and implementing effective, cost-efficient solutions.
  • Delivering hands-on training for team members regarding material applications and processes.
  • Actively engaging in daily production discussions and maintaining availability for operators.
  • Collaborating closely with factory personnel to ensure seamless operations.
  • Alerting the Materials Management Team about potential material obsolescence or supply chain disruptions.

Collaboration and Process Improvement:

You will serve as a liaison between operations and Materials & Process Engineering (M&PE) to swiftly address issues related to material procurement and obsolescence:

  • Identifying affected end users, assessing material needs, and sourcing alternatives while ensuring compatibility with existing processes.
  • Utilizing Lean manufacturing principles to enhance processes, reduce variability, and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Documenting and authoring manufacturing procedures to support troubleshooting efforts and facilitate efficient resolution of manufacturing challenges.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) and a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
