Job Summary

As a key member of the Compass Group USA team, the Sous Chef will play a vital role in the successful operation of the Culinary Department for a facility. This exciting opportunity is perfect for an energetic and entrepreneurial Culinary professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional food service experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and create menus that meet the needs of our clients.
  • Develop and execute catering events that exceed client expectations.
  • Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with the Company's marketing and culinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A.S. or equivalent experience in Culinary Arts or a related field.
  • Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training.
  • Catering experience is a plus.
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences are helpful.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Must be experienced with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the Internet.
  • Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities.
  • ServSafe certified is highly desirable.
