About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the campus safety and security team, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and vision.
  • Operational Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the campus safety and security team, including patrol, investigations, and support services.
  • Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis management programs and emergency response procedures to ensure the safety and security of the campus community.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Foster strong relationships with local law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as organizational regulations.
  • Team Management: Oversee a team of sworn officers, security personnel, and dispatchers, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective delivery of safety and security services.
Requirements
  • Experience: Extensive experience in law enforcement, including supervisory and command-level roles.
  • Certifications: Virginia law enforcement certification or the ability to obtain within six months of employment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
