Director of Quality and Patient Safety

The Director of Quality and Patient Safety plays a pivotal role in shaping the clinical quality and patient safety landscape at Atlantic Health System. This leader is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive quality and patient safety program that fosters a culture of excellence and transparency throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Management: Collaborate with medical center leadership to design and implement quality improvement initiatives that drive exceptional patient care and outcomes.
- Process Improvement: Provide strategic guidance and support to quality improvement teams to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Patient Safety: Lead the integration of high-reliability organization principles to promote a culture of safety and minimize adverse events.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and maintain knowledge of Joint Commission, NJ Department of Health, and CMS clinical regulatory standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervise the Quality and Patient Safety department team and collaborate with the Infection Prevention Director to oversee infection prevention efforts.
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, a Master's degree in a healthcare-related field or MBA, and 5 years of experience in quality improvement or patient safety within a healthcare setting. Additionally, 3 years of leadership experience in a complex healthcare delivery system and 3-5 years of clinical experience within an acute care hospital or health system are required. Certification in Healthcare Quality or Patient Safety is also preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organization skills, and the ability to multitask various responsibilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong data analytic skills are also essential.
