Ford and SK On are making substantial investments in Kentucky and Tennessee, which includes the establishment of three cutting-edge battery production facilities across the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These state-of-the-art manufacturing plants will leverage Ford's century-long automobile manufacturing experience alongside SK On's extensive expertise in electric vehicle battery production to emerge as the leading battery manufacturer globally.

The Logistics Operations Supervisor at BlueOval SK - BlueOval Battery Park in Glendale, Kentucky, will have a remarkable opportunity to be an integral part of the launch team, initiating the facility from its inception.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily logistics operations within the facility and department, including but not limited to:
  • Ensuring efficient material movement from receiving areas to storage locations, production lines, and delivery of finished goods to clients.
  • Guide and support resource allocation to effectively manage logistics responsibilities.
  • Promote lean manufacturing practices and support operational systems for synchronous material flow.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, delivery, cost, personnel, environmental standards, production throughput, budgetary goals, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Define and mentor teams by utilizing standardized work processes.
  • Lead and supervise hourly staff.
  • Facilitate communication and recognition within the team.
  • Develop the capacity of hourly Team Leaders and Team Members.
  • Create a positive work environment for teams to fulfill their assigned tasks.
  • Encourage continuous improvement (Kaizen) and assist in problem-solving efforts.
  • Manage basic supervisory duties and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in the following areas (2-5 years):
  • Desired experience in Material Planning and Logistics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with plant personnel, logistics providers, and production suppliers.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead and supervise a team.
  • Proficient in various computer applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, etc.).
  • Experience with Common Manufacturing Management Systems (CMMS) or similar ERP systems.
  • Willingness to support any shift within a 7-day work schedule.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and manage crises effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills, quick decision-making ability, and a curious mindset.
  • Flexibility for significant travel during the initial phases of plant start-up.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with excellent interpersonal, team-building, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Material Planning, Business Administration, Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Familiarity with the Ford Production System (lean manufacturing) is a plus, but not mandatory.
