Job Overview

Summary: Under supervision, the Logistics and Inventory Specialist is tasked with the efficient handling of merchandise, which includes receiving, sorting, shipping, and storing products, as well as transporting orders between designated departments and the warehouse as required.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Sorting Operations

  • Interpret order sheets and accurately select merchandise for delivery in a timely manner.
  • Organize items according to orders and prepare them for shipment to retail locations.
  • Label items based on store destinations and submit paperwork to the Manager for data entry.
  • Move materials and products from receiving or sorting areas to storage or other assigned locations using hand trucks.
  • Ensure a clean, orderly, and safe working environment is maintained.

Forklift Operator Duties

  • Utilize forklifts or hand trucks to transport materials and items from receiving or sorting areas to storage or designated locations.
  • Store merchandise in appropriate locations and maintain an organized warehouse; ensure proper storage of materials.
  • Retrieve merchandise according to orders, label appropriately, and deliver to the shipping area for distribution.
  • Engage in warehousing and merchandise handling tasks across all operational phases.
  • Alert the Manager regarding low inventory levels.
  • Conduct periodic inventory checks of materials, equipment, and supplies in storage as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working environment.
  • Perform daily inspections and maintenance of forklifts.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to learn or currently possess skills in operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts and hand trucks.
  • Capable of following written instructions accurately.
  • Must be a team player, able to collaborate effectively to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to work independently to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Preferred 1 to 3 years of verifiable experience in a related field.

While executing the responsibilities of this position, the associate is frequently required to stand, walk, and communicate effectively. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The Logistics and Inventory Specialist will typically encounter varying temperatures depending on the season and weather conditions.
