About the Role

DEKA Research & Development is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to lead the design and development of electro-mechanical systems for a medical device product development program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop overall electro-mechanical system architecture and design specifications
  • Define critical interfaces between subsystems and lead subsystem team leads in the integration of sophisticated software-driven electro-mechanical devices
  • Develop system level test strategies, test specifications, and protocols
  • Conduct hazards analysis, failure modes analysis, and mitigation design
  • Support program management to drive design goals within the entire project team
  • Provide guidance to manufacturing process development, including process development, PFMEA review, and manufacturing test criteria
Requirements
  • MS/BS in Engineering with 5-10 years' experience in electro-mechanical machine and/or product design
  • Demonstrated experience in new product development environments, including embedded software, complex mechanical systems, and electronics
  • Demonstrated technical leadership skills and a history of inventive solutions to technical problems
  • Experience with requirements definition and management for performance, standards compliance, and testing
  • Experience with innovative first-generation product development, preferably in the medical device market
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and prior experience with disposable products
