Job Overview

BAE Systems USA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Software Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing complex software systems for our defense-related customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and design complex software systems for simple systems or subsystems of larger systems.
  • Evaluate software designs to identify design flaws and improve overall system performance.
  • Communicate effectively with management and team members to ensure project progress and results.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and methodologies to ensure the use of effective new techniques.

Requirements
  • Secret Security Clearance (active within the past two years).
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, and minimum of 10 years of work experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in real-time embedded software development in C++.
  • Foundation in Object-Oriented design and implementation principles.
  • Experience with software and systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • Requirements development experience.
  • Experience performing software testing, validation, and verification activities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Full life-cycle software development.
  • Familiarity with software automated test development and execution.
  • Software algorithm development.
  • Agile Development experience.
  • Customer/Subcontractor interfacing.
  • Software/Firmware interface definition.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead, and motivate technical teams.
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
