Position Overview
We are seeking a Financial Operations Leader within our corporate finance division.

This role involves collaboration with a diverse team of professionals and is accountable for the development and preparation of financial reports, analytical assessments, and contributions to financial presentations and various projects as needed.

This position serves as the analytical backbone of the organization, delivering insights that facilitate informed business decision-making.

The Financial Operations Leader supports the Regional Controller and the Regional Management Team in achieving business objectives related to Trade Working Capital.

This role also coordinates the planning and reporting of financial outcomes in alignment with long-term strategic goals.

Additionally, this position provides training, guidance, and support to Regional Teams on a wide array of financial matters to ensure robust internal controls and satisfactory performance.

The Financial Operations Leader is part of the Finance Organization and collaborates closely with operations and finance personnel across Johnson Controls.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and identify primary factors contributing to negative cash flow across all Branch teams.
- Schedule Accounts Receivable follow-up calls and drive initiatives to resolve outstanding issues.
- Assign responsibilities as necessary to address and resolve disputes.
- Collaborate with a large team of accounting professionals managing all accounting processes, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory, and General Ledger.
- Investigate and identify key drivers behind under-billed jobs in each Branch team.
- Oversee legal collections, particularly in coordination with local external counsel, and provide status updates to the Regional Cash Leader and Finance Director.
- Assist the Regional Cash Leader and Finance Director in conducting financial performance reviews related to Trade Working Capital, including metrics such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), under-billed jobs, aged Accounts Receivable, and collection performance, while identifying root causes affecting performance.


- Prepare and report on the status of disputes within the Area, detailing resolution times and root cause identification.

- Conduct quarterly audits on Accounts Payable to ensure timely payments.
- Collaborate with the Regional Cash Leader and Finance Director to set collection targets aimed at achieving Trade Working Capital goals.
- Identify obstacles impacting cash collections and propose solutions, including training recommendations.
- Review monthly financial results and business metrics for the region, identifying issues and suggesting corrective actions to the Regional Controller.
- Participate in monthly regional performance reviews, including assessments of backlog, balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow.
- Identify best practices and facilitate their implementation across other regions.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- At least 6 years of experience in Finance or Accounting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, and inventory management.
- Strong understanding of cash flow metrics, collections, and Trade Working Capital.
- Ability to support, monitor, and report financial results in a multi-location operational environment.
- Proficient in preparing basic Trade Working Capital financial statements.
- Familiarity with legal collections processes.
- Understanding of inventory management and cycle counting.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences.
- Experience in shared services or customer contact center environments is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional listening and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in ERPs such as SAP, iScala, Oracle, and HFM.
Compensation
The hiring salary range for this position is $90,000, with the final salary determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market alignment. This role includes a competitive benefits package.
