Role Summary

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to apply accounting principles to assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and statements. You will collaborate closely with the Director of Accounting and the Controller to refine month-end closing processes and enhance our financial policies and controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process journal entries along with account reconciliations for the month-end close.
  • Maintain the fixed asset schedule on a monthly basis, calculating and recording depreciation expenses.
  • Act as the primary backup for Treasury functions, including daily bank statement updates and preparation of retail collection reports.
  • Conduct analysis of P&L historical trends and perform variance analysis against plans and forecasts.
  • Assist in external audits, including evaluations of inventory valuation.
  • Lead efforts in sales and use tax compliance.
  • Organize and keep financial records current and accessible.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports for FP&A and the Director of Accounting.
  • Address inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience in the apparel or manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel is essential.
  • A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative while knowing when to seek assistance.
  • Adaptability to changing work environments.
  • Capability to anticipate needs and follow through on tasks effectively.
  • Potential for leadership opportunities within the finance team by driving quality improvement initiatives.
