Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled PC Build Specialist to join our team at TEKsystems. As a PC Build Specialist, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, and maintaining computer systems according to company standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly and Configuration: Assemble computer hardware components, including motherboards, processors, memory, storage devices, and power supplies. Install and configure operating systems and software applications. Ensure compatibility and proper functioning of all hardware and software components.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Perform rigorous testing procedures to identify defects or malfunctions in computer systems. Conduct stress tests and diagnostic procedures to ensure system stability and performance. Document test results and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose hardware and software issues and implement appropriate solutions. Repair or replace defective components as necessary. Collaborate with colleagues to resolve complex technical problems.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records of computer components and peripherals. Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed. Organize and store equipment in designated locations.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Create and update documentation for assembly procedures, troubleshooting steps, and best practices. Generate reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and inventory status. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project status and technical issues.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to industry standards and best practices for computer assembly and maintenance. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injury in the workplace.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in providing technical support for workstation hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and 11, as well as Microsoft Office and other productivity software.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.
  • Proven experience in PC assembly, hardware installation, and software configuration.
  • Familiarity with computer components, peripherals, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
  • Technical certifications are a plus.
Working Conditions

This position primarily operates in a workshop environment, with occasional on-site installations or repairs. May require lifting and moving heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds) and working in tight or confined spaces. Occasional overtime or weekend work may be necessary to meet project deadlines.
