POSITION OVERVIEW

Our client, a leading Fortune 500 company in the energy sector, is recognized as one of the most cost-effective energy providers in the United States and is known for its innovative practices.

The IT Desktop Support Specialist will be involved in a PC Refresh initiative, which entails upgrading hardware and software across the organization. This includes assembling new PCs and delivering level 3 support for various locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct thorough assessments of hardware and software needs.
  • Assemble computer components such as motherboards, CPUs, RAM, storage devices, and power supplies.
  • Install and configure operating systems and software applications effectively.
  • Ensure all hardware and software components are compatible and functioning correctly.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly.
  • Repair or replace faulty components as required.
  • Perform extensive testing and quality assurance to identify any defects or malfunctions in computer systems.
  • Conduct stress tests and diagnostic evaluations to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Document testing outcomes and provide constructive feedback for enhancements.
  • Offer on-site troubleshooting and level 3 technical support to end users.
  • This position will require travel to various off-site locations as necessary.
  • Mileage reimbursement will be provided for travel to different sites.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Desktop Technician role.
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows 10 & 11, along with Microsoft Office and other productivity tools.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience with Windows 10/11 installation and configuration is essential.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Candidates must have reliable transportation for off-site work, with mileage reimbursement available.
  • A+ certification is highly preferred.
