Job Summary

NYC Health Hospitals is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clerical Associate to provide administrative support to the Ambulatory and Community Psychiatry department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records, coordinating patient appointments, and providing exceptional customer service to patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Retrieve and file medical records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
  2. Coordinate patient appointments, including scheduling and rescheduling as needed.
  3. Provide administrative support to clinical staff, including answering phones and responding to patient inquiries.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records, including tracking patient information and updating databases.
  5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
  6. Participate in performance improvement activities, including quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction surveys.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 6 months of full-time clerical experience or equivalent, including interacting with the public and providing customer service.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
