Position Overview

The Senior Vice President of Operations will oversee the strategic direction and operational management of the company. This executive role encompasses P&L accountability for a substantial portfolio of locations, leading a dedicated team focused on operational efficiency and superior client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in driving profitable growth, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all operational aspects of the organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives, budgetary goals, and performance metrics.
  • Enhance reporting capabilities across the enterprise and lead monthly operational reviews to assess performance and drive improvements.
  • Facilitate EBITDA growth by optimizing processes, implementing performance metrics, and fostering a culture of accountability.
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to shape and execute operational strategies.
  • Ensure efficient operations by managing costs and labor effectively, supported by a team including Vice Presidents of Operations and Logistics.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to direct reports, providing constructive feedback and promoting high standards of leadership performance.
  • Guide field teams in the successful implementation and onboarding of new practices.
  • Work in partnership with corporate resources to support client-specific operational needs.
  • Assess and develop the operational team, focusing on talent retention through coaching and leadership development.
  • Participate in strategic planning and leadership development initiatives.
  • Oversee the company budget, ensuring financial performance meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to create relevant marketing materials based on operational insights.
  • Promote a positive organizational culture, ensuring remote teams feel connected to the company’s mission.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in multi-site operations within the paving or construction industry.
  • Demonstrated ownership mentality with the ability to delegate effectively.
  • Proven success in new practice development and process implementation.
  • Experience in operational and financial reporting with a strong drive for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to build credible relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Proficient in deploying initiatives and driving execution.
