Position Overview:


The Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations is accountable for overseeing projects and deliverables pertinent to the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) scope of work. This role includes representing the CMIO and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in matters related to analytics, reporting, and software development requirements, as well as governance and acceptance approval for various projects and programs.

The SVP will leverage analytical skills, inquisitive nature, and system knowledge to identify project needs, engaging with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure clarity and understanding.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a representative for the CMO and CMIO in project meetings, requirements gathering, prioritization sessions, governance, testing, and product implementation.
  • Independently break down concepts to articulate requirements for analyses, reports, or applications for the development team.
  • Review and approve requirements documents, user stories, and test plans to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Identify gaps in requirements for complex systems and collaborate with team members to address them.
  • Prioritize features or components of systems, accounting for dependencies across business processes and systems.
  • Assemble necessary external stakeholders, including clinicians and business owners, to ensure comprehensive requirements are gathered.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers, business analysts, and executive sponsors to ensure new tools meet the goals of the CMO and CMIO.
  • Understand business operations, data elements, and system integrations to ensure projects account for data and workflow limitations.
  • Contribute ideas regarding system requirements, workflows, user experience, and user interface enhancements.
  • Gain familiarity with TeamHealth proprietary systems and business processes.
  • Support the enhancement of existing systems and the implementation of new systems.
  • May lead a small team on specific projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five years of experience in clinical operations, including clinician contracting, scheduling, credentialing, and payroll operations.
  • Clinical training and experience as a physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or nurse is required.
  • Proven leadership experience with direct interaction with clinicians to meet operational needs.
  • Significant independent leadership experience with decision-making authority.
  • Healthcare experience is essential, with strong familiarity in Emergency Medicine and Hospital Medicine operations.
  • Formal training in Clinical Informatics is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong project management capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to handle multiple requests under pressure.
  • Resourceful, innovative, and adept at problem-solving.
  • Ability to articulate and prioritize the requirements of multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
