Position Overview

The role of the Financial Analyst encompasses the management of strategic planning initiatives and the facilitation of change management processes. This position plays a crucial role in assisting the Vice President of Finance and Operations with the daily financial operations while also concentrating on long-term strategic objectives and organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning:

  • Engage with senior leadership to formulate and execute long-term financial strategies that align with the institution's objectives.
  • Perform financial analysis and forecasting to aid in strategic decision-making.
  • Assess financial performance indicators and offer suggestions for enhancement.

2. Change Management:

  • Lead initiatives aimed at transforming financial processes, systems, and protocols.
  • Design and implement change management strategies to ensure the successful integration of new financial policies.
  • Provide support and direction to departmental leaders and staff during transitional phases.
  • Evaluate the success of change management efforts and make necessary adjustments.

3. Financial Management:

  • Generate financial reports and presentations for senior management and the board.
  • Assist in the budgeting process, including the preparation of presentations and budget reconciliations.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Contribute to the establishment and execution of financial controls and procedures.

4. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to integrate financial planning and analysis into business operations.
  • Develop and conduct operational and budget training sessions for staff.
  • Effectively communicate financial information and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement within the finance department.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, along with three years of progressive experience in financial management, business analysis, or accounting. A strong understanding of strategic planning principles, change management methodologies, and proficiency in accounting functions is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.

This position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and proven leadership capabilities. Candidates should be adept at navigating a dynamic environment and driving operational efficiencies.
