Job Overview

The Viticulture Extension Program Coordinator will be responsible for the development and execution of educational initiatives aimed at addressing critical issues within the High Plains and West Texas grape cultivation sectors. This role focuses on enhancing the economic viability and environmental sustainability of vineyards, which represent a significant portion of Texas's agricultural landscape.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver expert guidance and educational programs, including workshops, field demonstrations, and training sessions for county agents.
  • Utilize both conventional and innovative outreach methods to inform producers, agricultural advisors, and industry stakeholders.
  • Support Extension County Programs and Agents across designated districts and collaborate with regional leaders to align programming with local needs.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations with Texas A&M AgriLife personnel to create comprehensive programs that address the needs of County Extension Agents.
  • Engage with various viticulture organizations to foster partnerships and secure funding for research and outreach initiatives.
  • Assess the effectiveness of educational programs and prepare detailed reports on outcomes and impacts.
  • Participate in professional development activities and contribute to departmental service.
  • Contribute expertise to multi-disciplinary projects within the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service framework.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant agricultural discipline, such as horticulture, soil science, or plant pathology, accompanied by two years of pertinent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's degree in horticulture or a related field, along with two years of relevant experience in viticulture.

Capacity to manage multiple tasks and collaborate effectively with colleagues

Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment
