Position Overview

The Patient Services Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating patient interactions during the registration and arrival process for both scheduled and unscheduled appointments. Under the guidance of the Patient Access Services manager, this individual is tasked with ensuring a smooth registration experience by accurately gathering demographic and insurance information, as well as addressing patient liabilities when applicable.

This role also encompasses financial clearance responsibilities for scheduled accounts during registration downtimes, along with various client service activities such as managing patient valuables and delivering essential customer service. The Patient Services Specialist is dedicated to greeting and assisting patients in a courteous, professional, and respectful manner, fostering positive experiences.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, specifically within Patient Access or a business office environment. Familiarity with insurance eligibility systems is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An Associate's Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration is advantageous.
  • Experience with Epic Applications is preferred.
