JOB DESCRIPTION:


As a vital member of the Credit and Systemic Risk Team, the Senior Systemic Risk Associate will contribute to the department's objectives by performing continuous assessments of potential risks, preparing both qualitative and quantitative evaluations, and supporting various initiatives.


The analytical responsibilities encompass both external and internal sources of potential systemic threats to the organization and the broader securities industry.


The associate will engage in research related to equity and fixed income markets concerning potential systemic risks, focusing on eligible securities such as equities, Treasury securities, mortgage-backed securities, municipal bonds, high-yield corporate bonds, asset-backed securities, and agency securities. Additionally, the associate will assist in maintaining a suite of macroeconomic hypothetical stress scenarios as part of the company's stress testing framework.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Stay informed about industry trends and global developments that may have systemic implications for clients.

Analyze products and services to identify and map trends with potential impacts.


Generate concise written analyses on macroeconomic and market trends and effectively communicate findings to risk analysts and executive management.


Contribute to thematic reports on significant topics affecting financial markets (e.g., macroeconomic trends, geopolitical events).

Participate in research and contribute to Systemic Risk White Papers, Barometer surveys, and other initiatives.


Prepare daily market updates to inform Executive Management about recent developments and upcoming events that may influence financial markets.


Develop and present periodic reports on systemic risk issues for various councils and committees, including the Systemic Risk Council and the Board of Directors.


Support the Enterprise Stress Testing Committee by aiding in the creation and maintenance of macroeconomic hypothetical stress scenarios that could affect member firms.

Prepare presentations and materials for both external outreach and internal initiatives.

Provide various forms of analysis, data, and visualizations to support interconnectedness risk initiatives.


Collaborate with different departments within the organization on internal and external initiatives, including various groups within the Risk Office, General Counsel's Office, Operations, Product Management, Treasury/Finance, and Compliance.

Identify risks within assigned responsibilities and support risk mitigation efforts across the organization.

Evaluate existing processes and propose new methods to optimally anticipate and mitigate risks.

Maintain regulatory awareness and compliance, ensuring adherence to risk-related policies and best practices.

Demonstrate and foster a risk management culture within the organization.

Integrate risk and control processes into daily responsibilities to mitigate risks effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience


A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in risk management or a related field within the financial services industry.

Experience in writing or contributing to research reports.

Knowledge of various financial instruments, with a strong understanding of equity and/or fixed income markets.

Prior experience in a clearing organization is advantageous.

Experience with stress testing and scenario development is a plus.
