Position Overview

Job Location: This role requires candidates to maintain an active presence at their respective educational institutions.


About Us

Student Freedom Initiative, Inc. (SFI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing educational disparities and promoting financial literacy among students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). Our mission is to empower students through innovative financial solutions and comprehensive support systems aimed at reducing the wealth gap.


Role Summary

We are seeking Campus Ambassadors who will act as crucial liaisons between SFI and their academic institutions. In this role, you will facilitate connections with student organizations, enhance our online presence, and implement various marketing and engagement initiatives on campus. Successful candidates will demonstrate self-motivation, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.


Key Responsibilities

1. Promote the Alternative to traditional Parent PLUS Loans to eligible students at your institution.

2. Assist with other SFI initiatives as assigned.


Support and Development

1. Participate in quarterly virtual information sessions to stay updated on organizational goals and objectives.

2. Engage in bi-weekly check-ins with your supervisor to discuss progress and address any challenges.

3. Establish clear success metrics, including regular interactions with students to discuss the benefits of SFI's financial solutions.


Regular Duties

1. Cultivate professional relationships with campus resources such as Counseling, Financial Aid, and Student Success centers.

2. Identify and promote campus events that align with SFI's mission.

3. Foster word-of-mouth marketing and share effective strategies for engaging campus leaders.


Qualifications

1. Current HBCU/MSI student (Sophomore, Junior, or Senior) enrolled in an undergraduate program.

2. Demonstrated leadership and involvement in campus activities.

3. Strong organizational and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

4. Ability to work collaboratively and engage effectively with peers.


Reporting Structure

You will report to the Director of Strategic Initiatives and other designated members of the Engagement Team.


Compensation

1. Annual stipend of $2,000, distributed across the academic year.

2. Flexible hours, up to 10 hours per week.

3. Remote work flexibility.
