Campus Recreation Facilities Manager

As a pivotal member of the Campus Recreation team, the Campus Recreation Facilities Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily functions of our recreation facilities. This position is essential for ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all users of the facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee routine and emergency maintenance of the facilities
  • Implement and uphold facility policies and procedures
  • Monitor activities of recreation members to ensure compliance
  • Execute emergency protocols effectively
  • Foster a secure atmosphere for all facility users
  • Train and supervise student staff involved in facility operations
  • Conduct regular inspections of the premises
  • Coordinate maintenance requests with the appropriate departments
  • Manage annual inventory of equipment and maintain accurate records
  • Provide coverage in various roles as needed (e.g., lifeguarding, front desk duties)
  • Address inquiries and requests from facility members


Collaboration and Work Environment:

This role involves regular interaction with a variety of stakeholders, including professional staff, facility users, external department heads, contractors, and vendors. The position is designated as On-Campus, reflecting the dynamic needs of the university community.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma required; preference for a BA/BS in Recreation Management, Physical Education, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
    Ability to document communications efficiently
    Proficient in multitasking and time management
    Skilled in resolving customer issues and troubleshooting
    Knowledgeable in management techniques and methods
    Experience working with diverse populations and students


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in recreation management and familiarity with university environments and student populations.
