Campus Recreation Facilities Manager

As a pivotal member of the Campus Recreation team, the Campus Recreation Facilities Manager is entrusted with overseeing the daily operations of our recreation facilities. This role is essential in ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all users.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee maintenance operations, addressing both routine and urgent needs.
  • Implement and uphold facility policies and procedures.
  • Monitor activities of recreation members to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Execute emergency protocols effectively during critical situations.
  • Foster a secure atmosphere for all facility users.
  • Train and supervise student staff in facility operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the premises to ensure optimal conditions.
  • Submit maintenance requests to the appropriate departments.
  • Coordinate annual inventory of equipment and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide coverage in various roles as necessary, including lifeguarding and front desk duties.
  • Address inquiries and requests from facility members promptly.


Collaboration and Work Environment:

This position requires consistent interaction with professional staff, facility users, external department heads, contractors, and vendors, fostering a collaborative atmosphere.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma required; preference for a BA/BS in Recreation Management, Physical Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and cooperative demeanor.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to document communications efficiently.
  • Proficient in multitasking, prioritizing, and time management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address customer concerns effectively.
  • Knowledge of management techniques and methods.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and students.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in recreation management and familiarity with a university environment is advantageous.
