Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Campus Security Officer (CSO) to support a school in the DC area. The CSO will play a vital role in upholding the institution's commitment to delivering the highest quality of education by ensuring the safety and security of all students, staff, and property. As a key member of the school community, you will work diligently to cultivate a secure environment that promotes the well-being of students and staff alike. Our ideal candidate will prioritize exceptional customer service across all operational facets within Joffe Emergency Services Security Division. The responsibilities outlined below represent the core duties of the role and are not exhaustive; additional tasks may be assigned as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Become a trusted presence within the school community.
  • Serve as the first responder to all campus emergencies, whether medical or criminal, that may pose a risk to safety.
  • Enforce campus policies and procedures regarding safety and security matters.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the safety and security of campus facilities and grounds.
  • Monitor student behavior and uphold school regulations related to conduct, vehicle operation, and parking.
  • Assist school administration with safety and security matters as needed.
  • Manage traffic and parking on campus premises.
  • Secure buildings according to scheduled events and ensure campus safety protocols are followed.
  • Ensure proper lighting is maintained and report any electrical or mechanical issues to the supervisor.
  • Verify that only authorized individuals are allowed access to the campus during duty hours.
  • Guide visitors and provide assistance as required.
  • Support investigations of campus violations by reviewing camera footage, interviewing witnesses, and documenting incidents.
  • Act as a liaison between the school and local law enforcement to promote best practices.
  • Provide informal safety education and information to students and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • At least 2 years of security experience.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Experience with children is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Customer service experience is essential.
  • Valid Security Officer License required.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoor settings and inclement weather.
