Who We Seek

We are in search of a Downstream Market Analyst responsible for developing and refining price forecasting visualization tools, calculating and issuing transfer prices, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure accurate price implementation. The selected candidate will serve as the primary resource for forecasts related to refined products, crude oil, chemicals, and freight, essential for the Global Optimizer team and Affiliates Affairs organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Continuously evaluating transfer price implementation.
  • Possessing relevant experience in the downstream oil & gas sector, with exposure to market analysis, model development, and forecasting.
  • Demonstrating the ability to create and maintain complex models and conduct analytical and statistical evaluations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Commerce, Marketing, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Post-graduate education or equivalent experience in MBA/Statistics/Economics is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of model development and proficiency in Excel functions.
  • Good understanding of downstream operations and supply chain dynamics.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in the oil & gas downstream sector, including several years in data analytics, market research, corporate planning, and business development.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance tailored price forecasting visualization tools.
  • Consult with the Pricing Insights and Market Analysis team and Account Executives to gather insights on global events impacting the energy/oil & gas market and emerging trends.
  • Collect data from forward curves of all crude and products, market premium or discount values, freight costs, and other components of Transfer Prices.
  • Calculate transfer prices daily for the planning cycle.
  • Coordinate with Account Executives and market insights for the review and validation of prices to be issued.
  • Disseminate weekly price forecasts to Account Executives to ensure timely identification of opportunities, estimate uplift margins, and provide a basis for negotiations among stakeholders.
  • Issue actual transfer prices on the last day of the previous month to allow for timely review.
  • Conduct periodic assessments of transfer price forecasting quality and identify trends.
  • Perform random checks and assist in quality assurance of implemented prices on standard and non-standard cargoes.
