Position Summary:

The Senior Risk Analyst for Clean Products is a pivotal role within our Middle Office. This position focuses on maintaining the integrity of our trading portfolio by thoroughly understanding transactions and their associated risks. The role requires daily collaboration with fellow analysts, traders, schedulers, IT, and accounting teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily evaluations of risk and supply portfolios, generating profit and loss reports for gasoline, distillates, and jet fuel products.
  • Analyze and produce daily risk control reports for management and supply teams.
  • Engage in monthly reconciliations with the accounting department.
  • Identify and assess risks linked to transactions within the portfolio, ensuring adherence to established limits.
  • Monitor market risk exposure for both short-term and long-term strategies.
  • Assist in the development of methodologies such as mark-to-market and Value at Risk (VaR).
  • Address any discrepancies or issues with daily system processes.
  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including supply managers, traders, and compliance teams.
  • Manage the expectations and requirements of multiple key stakeholders.
  • Interface with internal and external audit teams.
  • Support compliance and internal control initiatives.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) project.
Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk analysis and management within commodity markets.
  • Strong understanding of logistics, including vessel, rail, truck, and pipeline operations.
  • Detail-oriented and motivated, capable of thriving in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction across all levels of the organization.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset.
  • Exceptional multitasking skills, able to manage various projects and tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient in Right Angle and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience with Right Angle software.
  • Experience in oil refining preferred.
  • Background in energy commodity markets or financial derivatives preferred.
  • Familiarity with trade book to financial processes is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
