We are currently in search of a Senior Process Engineer to join our team, specifically within the Construction & Engineering sector. This is a full-time, permanent role that offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development.

Role Overview:
The Senior Process Engineer will bring over 10 years of experience to the role, focusing on process design within direct reduction facilities and other innovative technology projects. You will provide essential support to fellow process engineers and may delegate tasks to engineers and designers, acting as a technical lead across various initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with the client’s Code of Ethics and ISO standards.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to reach consensus on project assignments, prioritizing solutions that benefit all stakeholders.
  • Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and conduct mass and energy balance calculations for gases, liquids, and solids.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and maintain equipment lists.
  • Establish equipment duty specifications and manage process data for control valves and instrumentation.
  • Utilize proprietary software and create new calculation methods as needed.
  • Conduct and document process calculations, establish standard methodologies, and verify the accuracy of calculations performed by other engineers.
  • Act as the Lead Process Engineer on various projects, following directives from project management or Chief Engineers.
  • Review vendor and interdisciplinary documentation.
  • Contribute to the development of plant operating instructions.
  • Collaborate with the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) department to review and create logic diagrams for new systems and processes.
  • Assess existing and new process designs with a strong emphasis on safety.
  • Participate in and potentially lead Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) reviews, if certified.
  • Assist in client training, plant startups, and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Support proposal development and provide engineering man-hour estimates.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Autodesk and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong foundation in chemical engineering principles and process knowledge.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines and deliverables effectively.
  • Exceptional technical writing and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with chemical process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus).
  • Certification as a Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) or HAZOP facilitator.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
  • Experience in industrial plant settings.
  • Prior international travel experience.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in an industrial or technical environment, ideally related to the steel industry or demonstrated leadership on client projects.

Travel Requirements:
  • 10% to 25% travel, both domestic and international, based on project needs.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform extended periods of desk work and computer use.
  • Capability to navigate project sites, including climbing structures.
