The Opportunity

  • This is a remote position.
  • Candidates must reside in the designated area.
  • Relocation assistance is not available.
  • This role operates on a Wednesday to Sunday schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Travel requirements are approximately 30%.

Your role will involve delivering technical support solutions, including installation, corrective actions, and maintenance services. You will be expected to exceed customer expectations by collaborating with sales, marketing, and other departments while adhering to compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the representative of Abbott's Diagnostic Division to customers.
  • Provide on-site assistance to customers of the Abbott Diagnostic Division.
  • Support field personnel in achieving district business objectives.
  • Guide and mentor junior Field Service Representatives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with complex instruments as outlined in the Field Service Business Process database.
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems through accurate documentation of issue resolutions.
  • Adhere to regulatory and compliance protocols.
  • Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with laboratory safety standards.
  • Schedule and execute routine maintenance and installations as directed by Abbott.

Team Integration

  • Collaborate effectively within a diverse team environment.
  • Participate in on-call rotations.
  • Manage time, territory, and inventory efficiently.
  • Be available for standby and after-hours responsibilities.
  • Adapt to flexible working hours and unpredictable travel demands.
  • Provide critical account support across district boundaries.
  • Take ownership of customer issues until resolution or proper handoff occurs.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience is required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Medical Technology is preferred.
  • Experience in customer interaction is advantageous.

Additional Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Remote Computing).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The base pay for this position ranges from $31.55 to $63.15 per hour, with variations based on specific locations.
