The Opportunity

  • This position allows for remote work.
  • Candidates must reside in the designated area.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
  • This position requires working Wednesday through Sunday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Travel requirements are approximately 30%.

Provide efficient technical support solutions, including installation, corrective actions, and preventive maintenance. Exceed customer expectations by collaborating with sales, marketing, and other departments while adhering to compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the representative of Abbott's Diagnostic Division to clients.
  • Deliver on-site support to customers in the diagnostic sector.
  • Assist field personnel in achieving district business objectives.
  • Guide and mentor fellow Field Service Representatives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by customers on various complex instruments.
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems through accurate documentation of issue resolutions.
  • Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with laboratory safety protocols.
  • Schedule and perform routine maintenance, installations, and updates as required.

Team Integration

  • Collaborate effectively within a diverse team environment.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as needed.
  • Manage time, territory, and inventory efficiently.
  • Be available for standby and after-hours responsibilities.
  • Adapt to flexible working hours and unpredictable travel requirements.
  • Provide critical account support across various territories.
  • Maintain ownership of customer issues until resolution or appropriate handoff.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience is required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Medical Technology is preferred.
  • Experience in customer interaction is advantageous.

Additional Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The compensation for this position ranges from $31.55 to $63.15 per hour, with variations based on location.
