Ideal Candidate Profile

The Human Resources Department at Toyota is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Senior Employee Relations Project Leader to contribute to our innovative battery manufacturing operations.

This role is pivotal in steering companywide Employee Relations initiatives.

Reporting directly to the HR Employee Relations Manager, the selected individual will align with the department's mission to implement the strategic vision of the HR function, focusing on talent acquisition and development, while ensuring a motivated and engaged workforce to reduce employee turnover.

This position is situated at our cutting-edge manufacturing facility. The chosen candidate should be prepared to commute to this location. Relocation support may be available if necessary. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Employee Relations projects of varying scales that influence the organization or region.
  • Act as the HR expert for managers on policy and Employee Relations matters.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into workplace policy breaches.
  • Facilitate changes utilizing established change-management methodologies.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures throughout the organization.
  • Interpret policies and any amendments effectively.
  • Utilize compliance knowledge to safeguard the organization.
  • Implement solutions within assigned responsibilities.
  • Proactively seek enhancements to organizational processes and outcomes.
  • Execute HR technology initiatives.
  • Leverage expertise to explore and recommend solutions.
  • Report trends and insights to HR leadership.
  • Suggest policy modifications to meet business requirements.
  • Mentor and guide Employee Relations Analysts.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in planning and executing small to mid-sized projects.
  • Background in developing and implementing HR strategies.
  • Required experience in Employee Relations or related HR functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve problems effectively.
  • Proficient in facilitation and mediation techniques.
  • Self-motivated with a capacity to work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Willingness to accommodate daily and weekend overtime as necessary.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts.
  • Capability to navigate multiple areas within a large manufacturing facility.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Employee/Labor Relations, Human Resources, or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Toyota Employee Relations.
  • Familiarity with systems such as UKG, Workday, ServiceNow, Microsoft Power BI, or Qualtrics.
  • SHRM or HRCI Certification.
  • HR experience within a manufacturing context.
