What We're Looking For:

  • The Battery Manufacturing Production Engineering Division is in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic Production Engineer to join the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) team. This role is pivotal in supporting the launch of North America's first EV production facility for prismatic lithium-ion battery cells and modules.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage in daily reporting to senior management.
  • Develop process plans for battery production lines with guidance from management.
  • Collaborate with engineers, construction teams, technicians, vendors, and contractors to meet project goals.
  • Oversee equipment procurement, installation planning, execution, commissioning, and pre-production trials for battery production lines.

Additional Duties:

  • Implement advanced cleanliness protocols essential for battery manufacturing.
  • Lead equipment trials at vendor sites and on the production floor to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Identify punchlist items, conduct root cause analysis, and manage countermeasures.
  • Summarize KPIs, facilitate mass-production handover, and provide support for production issues.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to address open items and key project timelines.
  • Create and maintain detailed schedules and budgets for assigned areas.
  • Complete necessary internal and external training.

Qualifications (Must Haves):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience in production preparation and execution of capital projects, from strategy planning to mass production initiation.
  • Project management experience with capital investments exceeding $0.5M.
  • Ability to create and maintain detailed schedules, ensuring milestone achievements for manufacturing equipment installation.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting 2D drawings, including facility and process equipment layouts.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Familiarity with 2D and 3D drafting software, such as AutoCAD.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and during shutdown periods as required by project conditions.
